I AM THE BOSS OF ME

I hope women across America are screaming this!!

I was hoping to keep politics out of this blog, but when politics crosses the line into women's wellness and the right to reproductive health and control over our own bodies, I just don't wanna shut up.

I enjoyed the tone of the DNC (Democratic National Committee) because it was inclusive, it advocated for women's issues, and speakers raised concerns about recent reproductive health legislation and its trajectory under the Republican nominee (he who shall not be named). I like Kamala and her agenda for enough reasons, and I can't separate her gender and age from being an item in the pro category. I mean, she's 59, pretty much smack dab in The Wiser Me demographic. I'm sure she's come through the other side of the menopause transition because she gives off that 'don't fuck with me' vibe. Ever see those memes where she has to remind some interrupting white dude (aka, VP Pence) that she's speaking? Anyway she's friendly but fierce, and I'm unabashedly a fan.

Let's please not make The Handmaid's Tale a reality.... if Project 2025 is anything to go on, there are some scary similarities. Check out this video from the Republican's Against Txxxx who call themselves The Lincoln Project. Yes yes, I realize it's all advertising/propaganda at this point, but who thought Roe v Wade would be rolled back... who thought all abortion would be outlawed in some states... who thought interstate travel for an abortion could be under attack... who thought IVF would become so controversial and that Republicans even blocked a federal bill for women's rights to fertility treatments.

You see where I'm going with this. What's next? Let's NOT find out. Let's stop having extremist Presidents picking Supreme Court justices who are ethically challenged, partisan, and out of step with the majority of societal norms.

We're not going back. We can't. Your daughters and granddaughters will thank you -- as will their partners!

Vote your conscience. Vote for the policies that speak to you. But on November 5th 2024, JUST VOTE.
