Graduation caps in the air.

Growing up as GenX meant that you defined your own career path because you sure didn't get much hand holding. I can't recall my 'guidance counselor' in high school ever really giving me any nuggets of wisdom. I took a test that would supposedly help me figure out what career I should pursue. I scored high for PR/advertising since I liked to write and was the editor of my high school creative writing journal. Someone recommended a 'Media Communications' major and because I didn't know what else to do, I went for it and down the line, married that major with French Studies.

My career has always been meandering with quite a bit of self-employment or freelance work, and lots of trial and error, leaning in to learn new things. And paying attention to opportunities. And embracing reinvention. And being an entrepreneur.
